Samuelson Hause, PLLC a boutique law firm in Garden City, Long Island, focusing on matrimonial and family law. Our small team consists of four attorneys, a law clerk, and two legal assistants. We pride ourselves on fostering a congenial work environment where collaboration and fun go hand-in-hand. We approach cases with enthusiasm, helping clients rebuild emotionally and financially after divorce. We value work-life balance-overtime is rare-and we maintain a positive office culture, including firm lunches twice a month. We are willing to train the right person.

We are looking to welcome a Legal Administrative Assistant to our team. We are open to both full-time or part-time schedules. For full-time, you can choose a Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday schedule. If part-time fits your needs better, we are offering Thursdays and Fridays.

About You

You bring 2+ years of law firm experience and have a strong interest in divorce law and the legal field.

Your warm and caring demeanor puts clients at ease.

You have excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and answer phone calls

Schedule appointments

Manage filing, copying, and general office tasks

Enter time slips and assist with data entry

Review financial statements

Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, net worth statements, discovery, motions, agreements, and divorce packets

Order office supplies

Renew equipment leases and office-related contracts

Requirements

2+ years of experience as a legal assistant and customer service experience, a plus

Associate degree or higher preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Familiarity with WordPerfect

Experience with eCourt filing preferred

Ability to use Timeslips for attorney time entry preferred

Benefits

Competitive salary: $40,000-$80,000, based on experience

Bonus potential

401(k) plan with a 3% contribution, with the potential for up to 6%

Paid time off: 15 vacation/personal days and 12 holidays

Parking provided at our convenient location

Summer Fridays: Firm closes at 2:30 p.m.
