As countries move closer to their NTD elimination goals, we are dedicated to strengthening national health systems to ensure that progress is sustainable. From technical assistance on policy and governance, and human resources, to support for domestic resource mobilization, we are working hand-in-hand with governments to integrate NTD priorities into routine planning, financing, service delivery, and monitoring.

RTI is currently accepting applications for an Accountant in USAID Act East Indonesia (Act East). plays a critical role in reducing the burden of NTDs so they are no longer a public health problem. USAID's Act to End NTDs East program supports countries in the sustainable control & elimination of neglected tropical diseases, including Indonesia.

This position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Responsibilities:
Under the authority of the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting function for the Act to End NTDs East (Act East) program, a USAID-funded project focusing on neglected tropical diseases elimination in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. The Accountant who directly reports to the Finance Manager, will be responsible to post transactions in QuickBooks, monthly reconciliation of staff advances, vendor payments and other related expenditures. They are expected to utilize appropriate systems and follow proper accounting procedures to disburse, account for, and report usage of funds.

Essential Duties:

Reviews expenses and financial transactions to ensure compliance with RTI procedures and USAID rules and regulations.

Record expenses, advances, bank deposits any other accounting transactions in QuickBooks.

Manage staff cash advance accounts and reconciliation the same. Responsible for collecting and depositing to the bank any cash balances at the end of a trip (where applicable).

Collect and file of all cash and bank vouchers, maintain up-to-date, and complete voucher and filing systems maintaining voucher filing system such that files are updated, complete and safeguarded.

Prepare journal vouchers or adjusting entries for necessary reviews and approvals.

Ensure timely submission of expense reports, bank reconciliation and funding request to corporate headquarters;

Prepare relevant journal vouchers in timely manner to address monthly financial reporting compliance issues raised by the Regional Office/Compliance team.

Provide support to the Finance Manager in compiling and submission of the monthly financial reports package.

Maintains inventory tracking system and does periodic reviews to ensure compliance with RTI procedures and terms of the agreement.

Monitor cash flow and reconcile cash accounts to maintain appropriate cash balance.

Responsible for processing and maintenance of encumbrances (Fee for Service Contracts, Lease Agreements, Rental Agreements, etc.);

Assist the Finance Manager in budget preparation and monitoring, including monthly actuals;

Assist the Finance Manager to prepare monthly forecasts to help the Act East program accurately track financials;

Assist the Finance Manager during year-end closing processes for payments and reconciliations;

Oversee forecasting, collection, and documentation of project cost-share inputs from internal and external stakeholders and monitor and track commitments on an annual basis;

Provide related training to other staff as necessary.

Other general accounting duties as assigned.

Some domestic travel, up to 10%, may be required to support field-based activities and/or events.

Qualifications:
Masters degree and 1 years of experience or Bachelors Degree and 3 years of experience.

Skills & Abilities

Must be proficient in MS Excel and working knowledge of accounting software is preferable. QuickBooks and Oracle proficiency would be a plus.

Ability to monitor progress of a project against milestones or deadlines double-checks the accuracy of information to discover weakness or missing data and strive for high quality performance.

Discreet in the judgment and management of confidential matters, materials and sensitive issues.

Independently handle inquiries, especially the routines responsibility, with minimum supervision.

Problem-solver, effective communicator - both orally and in writing, in Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and verbal).

Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures as well as the ability to apply them with consistency in a variety of circumstances.

Ability to work well in team environment, within diverse cultures.

Ability to follow guidelines and controls required of the position.
