Job description

Lead Real Estate Accountant needed for a Contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in McLean, Virginia.

Remote/Hybrid/In-Person: (Hybrid Monday and Tuesday in office).

The Big Picture Top Skills Should You Possess:

• Experience:
  • 4+ years of experience in Real Estate Accounting (Commercial Accounting preferred).
• Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Software/Systems Proficiency:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Yardi software required.
• Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide reliable, courteous service and effectively present information.
  • Strong problem-solving and sensitivity to customer issues.
• Certifications:
  • CPA preferred but not required.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Review and prepare real estate accounting transactions and financial reports/statements.
• Oversee all aspects of financial statement preparation, including journal entries, cash receipts, and payables.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting, adhering to client requirements.
• Conduct cash analysis on a weekly basis and handle ad hoc reporting requests.
• Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the field and account management teams to ensure compliance with client requirements and terms.
  • Manage a team of two other accountants focused on commercial properties.
• Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare advanced-level financial statement packages, including posting journal entries and preparing funding requests.
  • Maintain consistency and accuracy in all financial reporting.
