Responsibilities of a Mechanical Estimator:

- Review mechanical plans and specifications to determine material and labor costs

- Evaluate subcontractor bids and quotes

- Coordinate with project managers and field personnel to ensure project success

- Develop budgets and cost estimates for multiple projects

- Identify value engineering opportunities and implement changes in project proposals

Essential Job Functions of a Mechanical Estimator:

- Utilize estimating and scheduling software to develop project proposals and budgets

- Read and understand documents such as blueprints, contracts, and job specifications

- Use spreadsheets and other software to organize project expenses and estimate accurate costs

- Communicate effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, and clients to ensure a successful outcome

- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and industry regulations

Skills of a Mechanical Estimator:

- 2-4 years of experience in a mechanical estimating role

- Pipefitting, HVAC, Plumbing, Chiller, Boiler, Coolers

- Proficient in estimating and scheduling software

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Experience with diverse commercial projects

- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
