Client Details

They are seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join the team and play a key role in managing and optimizing our cost accounting processes.

Description

  • Cost Analysis and Reporting:

    • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to track, analyze, and report on manufacturing costs.
    • Prepare detailed cost reports, including variance analysis, cost trends, and profitability assessments.
    • Conduct regular cost reviews and provide insights to management to support decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, focusing on cost-related aspects.
    • Monitor budget performance and identify areas for cost control and improvement.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals with operational objectives.
  • Inventory Management:

    • Oversee inventory valuation, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
    • Ensure accurate inventory records and conduct periodic physical inventory counts.
    • Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to minimize waste and obsolescence.
  • Cost Control and Optimization:

    • Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
    • Develop and implement cost control strategies to enhance profitability and operational effectiveness.
    • Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Financial Compliance and Auditing:

    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for cost-related queries.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost accounting records and documentation.
  • Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor the cost accounting team, providing guidance and support for professional development.
    • Delegate tasks and ensure timely completion of cost accounting assignments.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and integrity.
