In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects, ensuring we remain competitive while delivering exceptional value to our clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical skills, an understanding of construction processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and subcontractors.

My client is a top General Contractor in Philadelphia that specializes in higher education, healthcare, and life sciences construction projects. They surpassed $170M in annual revenue last year and were recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as an industry leader in the Greater Philadelphia market.

Description

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify project requirements and clarify any uncertainties.
  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary data for accurate estimating.
  • Source and evaluate subcontractor bids and supplier quotes to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop detailed estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Maintain an organized database of historical costs and market trends to enhance estimating accuracy.
  • Prepare and present bid proposals to management and clients.
  • Participate in value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts and project scope with clients and subcontractors.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure competitive pricing and compliance.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and market conditions in the Philadelphia area.
