As a Physical Therapy Aide, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical therapy team and ensuring the smooth operation of therapy sessions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with patients, assisting them throughout their treatment journey. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Assist physical therapists in providing patient care and treatment
Set up equipment and prepare treatment areas for therapy sessions
Escort patients to and from treatment areas
Monitor patients during therapy sessions and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist
Clean and maintain equipment and treatment areas
Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and documenting patient information

Hours would be flexible weekly but range from 16 to 20 hours a week. They would include some evenings until 7pm. No weekends.

Please note that this is not a licensed position and does not involve providing direct therapy services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
Experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care and satisfaction
A person who has an interest in pursuing a career in Physical Therapy or a related healthcare profession
A person who demonstrates the physical and mental capabilities (practical &/or written, post training competency test) to perform the duties required of the position
A person who can meet the physical demand level of the position

EXPERIENCE:

None required, but previous health delivery observation or volunteer hours, desirable

PHYSICAL DEMAND CAPACITY:

Consistent with Industry PDCs or minimally:

Requires the manual dexterity and general strength and endurance
Lifting-routinely loads of 5-35 pounds from
Floor to waist
Waist to shoulder
Shoulder to overhead
Carryingroutinely loads of 5-10# for 40-50
Pushing-routinely loads of 5-150# on casters, runners or pulleys
Sustaining a grip-routinely for 1-2 minutes of 40-50#
Guarding a lift load routinely of 120-140#
