The IT Planning and Finance Specialist oversees the daily activities of the technology purchasing function; Maintains the overall department budget, reviews technology purchasing decisions, orders, and vendor contracts; assists with the ordering of materials and supplies from vendors; research, interviews, and negotiates with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications; creates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials and performs related administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Support request fulfillment, purchasing, receiving, and deployment of IT hardware and software.

  • Maintain asset records within our IT asset management database.

  • Analyze stock items and identify required stock levels to support business needs.

  • Assess compliance with established IT asset policies and procedures.

  • Track software licenses, warranties, maintenance agreements, and vendor contracts, in line with established policies and procedures.

  • EOL-End of life management

  • Responsible for all surplus inventories including recording all End of Life (EOL) inventories and disposal.

  • Responsible for decommissioning assets and oversee surplus removal as needed

  • Provides guidance on a variety of budget related matters, to include types of funding available, budgetary changes, and year-end closeout procedures.

  • Prepares monthly variance scorecard.

  • Maintains IT budget, budget forecast, and identify future opportunities for savings

  • Conduct periodic audits to evaluate IT asset data accuracy. Investigate and recommend corrective measures to resolve data accuracy issues.

  • Generate reports on cost, spending, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contracts to support purchasing decisions.

  • Provide training on asset management procedures and tools.

  • Investigate opportunities to allocate IT assets more efficiently.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of IT asset management activities and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop purchasing recommendations that support business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

    Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred

  • 3-7 + years of experience in IT

    Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of Information Technology project management tools and project-based budgeting methodologies is necessary.

  • A strong customer focus and familiarity with IT Budgeting / Planning / Administration / Procurement standards and procedures are essential.

  • Candidates must possess a solid business orientation and demonstrate knowledge of the IT industry.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with and understand the needs of non-technical internal and external clients is crucial.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the proven ability to work independently with great attention to detail, are required.

  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly SAP, is essential.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.

  • Candidates must be able to work effectively within a team, multitask, and meet strict deadlines.

  • The ability to listen actively and work independently when necessary is expected.

  • The ability to perform under pressure and respond to emergencies outside regular working hours is essential.

  • Fluency in the English language is mandatory.

  • Participation in remote meetings with LG Energy solution Teams as needed is expected.

  • This role may require up to 5-10% of travel (domestic)
