Overview:
The Senior Director of Scheduling and PreVisit services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the PreVisit team and making sure all functions-including scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, pre-registration, price estimation, pre-service collections, and more-operate efficiently. This leader researches and seeks to implement emerging best practices to increase financial clearance efficiency and promote a positive patient experience. The role will lead the development, implementation and management of efficient and effective corporate operational policies, processes, and best practices within department functions across the organization. Enforce standardized policy and procedures, as well as quality and productivity tracking. Identify, report, and resolve operational and financial issues that impact the management of department operations. Maintain operating policies, procedures, and effective working relationships with all areas involved in billing, collections, patient access, customer service, cash applications, denial management and regulatory compliance. Develop multi-disciplinary teams to enhance quality and efficiency of department and revenue cycle operations.

Qualifications:
Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
Experience: Five years of relevant experience, required. Minimum of five years' experience in in a leadership role over Revenue Cycle, required. Minimum of seven years of expereince in revenue cycle required.
Additional Skills (required):Strong leadership and managerial skills, with a proven history of leading teams and driving results.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements related to all aspects of PreVisit services.
Reviews denial reports to identify authorization-related denial trends and implements solutions to address recurring issues.
Gathers and presents financial clearance performance data (e.g., POS collections, % of patients pre-registered, insurance verification rate, number of estimates provided, estimate accuracy, auth-related denials) to senior leadership teams.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process improvement and innovation.
Proficiency in healthcare IT systems and understanding of revenue cycle management.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy Development:Develop and execute strategic initiatives to optimize scheduling and PreVisit processes.
Provide leadership and guidance to the PreVisit team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Provide leadership in the use of methods and processes for: scheduling, financial clearance, insurance verification, authorization, pre-registration, and price estimation processes at all Novant facilities.
Operational Oversight:Oversee all aspects of PreVisit operations that supports Novant Health acute facilities.
Work with and direct assistant director and managers to develop performance improvement measures, tactical plans and operating budgets within their areas to achieve strategic goals and monitor progress toward goals throughout the year.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Performance Management:Monitor key performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff performance and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other departments (such as revenue cycle management, finance, and clinical teams) to streamline processes and resolve issues.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including patients, providers, and insurance companies.
Technology Utilization:
Evaluate and implement technology solutions to improve PreVisit processes and outcomes.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices related to all aspects of PreVisit functions and revenue cycle management.
Financial Management:
Manage budgetary responsibilities related to the teams' operations.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
Risk Management:
Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies related to department processes.
Ensure data security and privacy standards are maintained.
