Job Title: Clinical Nurse Job Specialty: SRT Float Pool Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hrs 3x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Experience: 1 year of nursing experience required License: Registered Nurse licensure Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification - CPI (Depending on float pool areas) - NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Additional required certifications dependent upon unit assignment Must-Have: - ADN or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing Preferred: - BSN from an accredited school of Nursing - Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Job Description: - Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards - Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director - Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting Essential Duties: - Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self - Attend educational programs based on identified learning needs - Utilize patient education materials relevant to the patient population - Assess readiness to learn for patients, families, and caregivers - Evaluate patient care and identify expected outcomes - Engage with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care - Communicate relevant information to ensure continuity of care - Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems - Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required - Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs - Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues - Develop professional growth goals and achieve them within the identified timeframe - Facilitate intra/interdepartmental collaboration - Participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities - Contribute to cost-effective care solutions - Provide feedback to colleagues - Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment - Recognize data from complex situations to prioritize care - Synthesize assessment data prior to communication - Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update care plans - Utilize multidisciplinary resources in planning patient care - Address cultural and ethnic issues in planning care - Read journals that may be applicable to practice and bring ideas for assessment of applicability
