We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a Research Manager within our Jewish Non-Profit and Advocacy Group Practice, advising leading organizations on everything from their branding and positioning, (potential) donor outreach and communications, targeting and messaging strategy, community and stakeholder engagement, impact measurement, mission creation / guidance / measurement and general consulting.
The ideal candidate has a background in market research and strong understanding of the Jewish community, the challenges and opportunities the community and its cohorts face, and a knowledge and familiarity with various Jewish organizations, advocacy groups and charities.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate ability to manage a team. They are an effective leader who can inspire and motivate others. They also have great interpersonal skills, outstanding customer service, strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent organizational and time management skills. In addition, they are a critical thinker and problem solver, are confident working with numbers, detail oriented, and can strategically translate data into actionable insights and serve as a strategic consultant and trusted advisor to our Jewish focused clients.
What You'll Do:
The Research Manager within our Jewish Non-Profit and Advocacy Group Practice reports to a Vice President and/or Partner and is responsible for managing the execution and implementation of custom qualitative and quantitative research and consulting projects. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to: designing research projects and writing proposals and survey instruments, managing all phases of a project from start to finish, supervising and directing a team of Analysts/Senior Analysts, ensuring projects are completed accurately and on time, identifying and recommending solutions to issues that may arise during a project's lifecycle, answering questions and providing status updates to the client, and managing the Vice President and/or Partner's expectations.
This Manager will also be client-facing and is expected to demonstrate an understanding of the Jewish community and Jewish non-profit/advocacy world, the ability to translate the clients' needs and questions into research project and survey instruments, and provide strategic insights, recommendations and support and consultation to clients.
Requirements
What You'll Need:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Market-Research, Political Science, Jewish Studies, or related field.
4+ years of work experience in marketing, communications, consulting, issue advocacy, journalism, market-research, etc.
Background or experience in market research is a plus.
2+ years of paid or volunteer work experience at a Jewish non-profit or advocacy organization.
Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced/high-stressed environment, and can meet tight deadlines with limited supervision.
Is detail-oriented and can work on multiple projects at a time.
Has a proven understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Is open to new techniques and willing to apply them to projects.
Is a leader who can provide guidance to junior team members.

BSG is part of WPP, a creative transformative company. The base salary for this position at the time of this posting is $90,000 - $110,000 per year. Individual compensation varies based on several factors, including location, job responsibilities, experience, and skills/qualifications.
