Job description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Event-Driven/Special Situations analyst to join our Event-Driven team. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, deep understanding of the event-driven landscape, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

As a member of our team, you'll have the exciting opportunity to:

Perform in-depth research and analysis of unique situations.

Generate investment ideas by identifying both solid and soft catalysts within our scope.

Maintain a curated list of companies that hold potential for ideas.

Create event-driven analysis that will be shared with our institutional clients, while also communicating your perspectives and ideas internally.

Nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, counterparties, and industry experts.

Facilitate calls with management teams of companies we are actively analyzing.

Stay updated on unfolding special situations as they occur.

Requirements

Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to think outside the box.

Proficient in interpersonal communication and both written and verbal communication. Capable of confidently and professionally interacting with individuals at all levels, effectively presenting complex information in a concise and clear manner.

Solid understanding of financial statements, financial modeling techniques, and investment analysis concepts.

Proficiency in data gathering, analysis, and synthesis using various tools, including Excel, financial databases, and research platforms.

Strong attention to detail, with a focus on follow-up and maintaining accuracy when working with large volumes of data.

Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment and establish effective working relationships with colleagues.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Commitment to excellence - consistently performing duties at the highest level possible.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree.

3-5 years' relevant experience.

FINRA licensed- Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 or willing to test prior to hire.

Experience and in-depth understanding of Event-driven strategies, including but not limited to distressed situations, litigation, M&A or other Special Situations.

Odeon Capital Group provides a total compensation package which may include a base salary, commissions, discretionary performance bonus, and/or a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated base salary range for this position, at the time of posting, is $100,000 to $150,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual's experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. The final base salary amount that is offered to any candidate, in any location, will be determined on several factors, which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education, and/or regulatory licenses.
