Accountant Job Description
The Accountant will provide support with a variety of accounting activities and related tasks. The Accountant will be responsible for re-allocating invoices as well as G/L account analysis affecting financial programs within the organization.
Responsibilities
Accountant Responsibilities
- Helps re-allocate monthly expenses
- Reviews general ledger account and department classifications for all affiliates entities
- Performs general account analysis
- Prepares accrued and prepaid schedules
- Assists with monthly bank reconciliations
- Various other analysis as requested
- Various ad hoc reports as requested
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Qualifications
Accountant Requirements and Qualifications
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting required
- Staff Accountant 4-6 years of experience
- Possession of strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
- Able to work collectively with other team members
- MS Office skills essential
- Strong MS Excel skills required
- Knowledge of Great Plain 2018 accounting software a plus
Knowledge:
- Accounting - Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications.

- Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- Interacting With Computers - Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Excel Skills - Proficiency with common Excel functions like vlookup and pivot tables preferrable.

- Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards - Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

- Processing Information - Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
