Description:

The Business Services Representative is responsible for promoting the On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, recruiting candidates and promoting skills upgrades within the companies we work with, and monitoring OJT program participants to achieve employment retention. Must be able to reliably travel throughout Chautauqua County.

  • Provides specialized career exploration and job search services with an emphasis on On-the-Job Training (OJT) program and employment retention
  • Completes outreach to area employers to identify hiring needs, develops work sites, matches potential employees with OJT program employers, and acts as a liaison
  • Works directly with jobseekers and Career Specialists to provide specialized job search services with an emphasis on OJT program
  • Provides assessments, job coaching, and career planning for targeted population
  • Attends job fairs and creates job orders related to employer hiring events
  • Ability to travel throughout Chautauqua County as well as between Jamestown and Dunkirk Chautauqua Works offices
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Additional Job Details:

  • Part-time
  • 20 hours per week between 8:30am and 4:30pm
  • Monday through Friday
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, psychology, social work, or related field
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for company business use
  • One year of relevant experience in workforce development or employment related field preferred
  • Knowledge of the world of work, job market, and employment preparation skills
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Maintaining rapport with customers, staff, collaborative partners, local employers, and other community agencies
  • Exercising discretion and sound judgement when dealing with customers, employers, and partner agencies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to proofread and correct grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to keep complete and accurate records and timely data entry
