Job description

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll ensure safety and OSHA compliance, manage chemical handling and SDS Sheets, and oversee staff while optimizing production efficiency and reducing costs. You'll also provide technical support, oversee facilities and preventive maintenance, and manage various technical projects.

Description

This position reports directly into the General Manager and is responsible for:

  • Adhere to Plant Safety Policies: Strictly follow established safety policies and procedures, including GMP, EPA, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct Validations: Perform and manage IQ, OQ, and PQ validations.
  • Promote Positive Work Environment: Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and continuous improvement of products and services.
  • Conduct Safety Audits: Perform monthly safety audits, manage corrective actions, and develop programs to emphasize safety.
  • Maintain Hazardous Communication Program: Collaborate with the Materials Manager and Documentation Specialist on hazardous communication.
  • Provide Safety Training: Conduct safety training, including fire drills, and maintain the OSHA 300 log.
  • Audit Equipment: Audit new equipment for safety, develop and revise PM (Preventive Maintenance) schedules.
  • Monitor Facility Condition: Oversee facility and grounds maintenance, housekeeping, and recommend improvements.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Monitor chemical levels, water, and air quality, ensuring proper positive pressure levels.
  • Develop Quotes and Schedules: Create quotes for new products or development efforts, and manage schedules for technical projects.

Profile

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience within the medical device industry
  • Plastics manufacturing experience preferred
  • Extrusion, blow molding, and/or injection molding skills preferred
  • Farmiliarity with GMP, FDA, and ISO 13485 standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
