Overview ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F-21762): Bowhead is seeking to hire a Engineering Technician for surge support during the next 40 days at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. The engineering technician performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for the planning, conducting and completion of projects of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse projects. The technician has some familiarity with power systems testing/test equipment and/or PCB fabrication and testing. Responsibilities Essential functions will include: Constructing and packaging devices according to specific layouts and diagrams provided. Conducting various tests on machines and parts as well as measuring, preparing, operating and recording test data. Creating presentations of data from field notes, manuals, lab reports and ensuring errors are identified and feasible recommendations are presented. Assisting in design modification after failures and modifications are identified and addressed. Provide technician level support for the following Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fabrication and assembly related efforts.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electronics background preferred. Five years of relevant experience in electronics repair and fabrication can be substituted in lieu of a degree. Five plus (5+) years of DoD experience preferred. Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
