Our client need candidates who have experience with the fundamentals of networking (routers/protocols/etc). Secret clearance and Sec+ is required for these roles. There are several different teams, some specialize in Router/Switch, some in UC/VOIP, LAN/WAN, Cisco and Juniper Routers and Switches, Satellite communications etc. Each team has slightly different responsibilities, but the key is the networking knowledge/experience, and they will be aligned with the team who bets matches our candidates skills. For example, the TR/IP NOC team provides all facets of Incident Management supporting a Wide Area Network (WAN) for DISA in a 24x7 environment, specifically Layer 2 and Layer 3 support (of the OSI model). Responsible for remote monitoring and management of the WAN utilizing client provided tools. Document network outages, hazardous conditions, site locations, and any type of service degradation using the TMS Remedy trouble ticketing system. They perform troubleshooting and fault resolution of voice, video, and data circuits. Serve as the liaison between the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and our customer. The other teams key missions include:
•JRSS (Joint Regional Security Stack) enterprise system, which provides a centralized network suite of equipment that provides a host of network security capabilities.
•Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS), providing 24/7/365 technical and operational support to tactical customers accessing DoD Gateway facilities.
•Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance operations support.
•Missile Defense Agency Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Communications Network.
•Other key services provided include operational engineering, service activations, performance management, configuration management, administration and security. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conduct network incident investigation. • Identify and document network errors and solutions. • Analyze network and telecommunications alarms and identify potential issues. • Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices such as firewalls, cryptographic devices, and routers to optimize performance and ensure the desired security posture is attained and maintained. • Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices, phone systems, including phone units, voicemail, switches, infrastructure, call manager systems, Video Teleconference (VTC) systems video recording/viewing/distribution systems, and related telecommunications trunk circuits. • Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma and 1-3+ yrs of relevant technical discipline; additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree. • Hold DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start date. • Able to work in a shift work environment as we are a 24/7 operation. • Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management • Experience in one or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, GVS, Promina, CISCO, MSPP, Optical Switching. • General understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP. • Currently possess an active Secret security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Sec+, CCNA Security, CySA+, High School diploma and 1-3 yrs. of related experience.
Able to work in a shift work environment - 24x7 environment
General understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as will have to delivery information to customer at all levels.
Currently possess an active Secret security clearance and upgrade to Top Secret
shifts: day is 7am-3pm, swing is 3pm-11pm, Mids (midnights) 11:00pm-7am; guaranteed a weekend day off as the schedule is SUN-THUR or TUE-SAT; rotates approximately every 3 months This is a great stepping stone to get into networking. This role has a large amount of opportunity to grow your career. Starting off as support specialist eventually moving into the NOC where the contractor will become a networking admin/operator/engineer. If they have a secret they will begin the process of upgrading to a TS. or it will hold them at a TS level if they already have it. ALSO, the GSMO contract was just awarded and is good for 10 years (job security!) Working on Scott AFB at the DISA building. Newest building on Scott and has a restaurant/café attached to it. within DISA they will be working in a large state of the art NOC. google image search DISA network operations center.
