Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties You will direct/deploy firefighting operational processes, equipment, and duties during emergency and non-emergency situations. You will perform hazard and risk assessment techniques in completing initial incident analysis. You will select and apply the proper techniques or procedures for fire suppression and emergency situations You will initiate established medical protocols in providing basic life support. Applicants must meet the Department of Defense (DoD) certification requirements: Candidates for firefighter positions must not have reached their 37th birthday by date of appointment. Information on exceptions and waivers: You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination, and then an annual occupational health examination thereafter. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This is a bargaining unit position. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR and First Aid certification. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. You will be required to wear a uniform and use all safety apparel in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and will fall under the respiratory protection program and hearing conservation program. You will be required to work a rotating work schedule which includes nights, weekends, holidays, and is subject to mandatory overtime and recall. Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth. Qualifications GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade; 2)Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; 5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles; and 6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures.
