Job Description
Job Title: Associate Director Supply Chain Warehouse and Logistics

Location: Social Circle, GA

About the role: The Covington AD WH and Log position is responsible for managing all activities in the Covington Warehouse area to ensure safety, quality, production goals and project deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and any other regulations that could apply. Focus on optimization of operations, logistics and inventory management to ensure safety, quality, and efficacy of product. Individual will monitor and control labor and capital expenditures as well as, develop budgets. Recommend policies, procedures, and programs. Maintain the department exception system, documentation review, employee time management and performance review processing, employee training, budget control and daily scheduling. Lead multiple teams to achieve mid and long term goals for growth and innovation.

How you will contribute:

  • Oversee floor operations of our cGMP warehouse.
  • Oversee cycle count process to ensure accuracy and control of inventory volumes
  • Build a team, provide necessary training and ongoing coaching, discipline, and recognition of direct staff, including performing annual performance reviews
  • Coordinate the daily activities with staff to ensure that all tasks are completed and compliant with applicable procedures.
  • Manage receiving, storage, and integrity of Raw materials
  • Understand and implement safety procedures and GMP's
  • Own standard operating procedures (SOP's) as required and process controls to obtain and maintain an efficient and effective department.
  • Drive investigations, problem resolution, and process improvement providing clear and complete planning and communication to senior management.
  • Drive expected culture in the organization
  • Sponsor special projects, multi-budget management and cost projection and reduction.
  • Provide guidance; support, direction and leadership through positive interactions will all employees during daily operations. Provide positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the Takeda Values.
  • Interview, hire, coach, motivate, develop, and provide appropriate disciplinary action as need to employees.
  • Set goals and objectives for the department. Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports.
  • Responsible for maintenance, generation and review of accurate and complete records, reports and documentation as required.
  • Ensure and provide all employees training to perform their duties. Emphasize training programs designed to enable staff to consistently execute all processes with strict compliance to cGMP's and EHS regulations.
  • Develop and implement key performance metrics to measure and evaluate efficiency, quality, and productivity. Implement changes as needed based on assessments.
  • Conduct staff meetings to discuss safety, quality, and productivity in order to strengthen employee relationships, effective communication and provide input on department and facility goals.
  • Resolves technical, material and cGMP problems that may impact project deadlines.
  • Represent the company during regulatory and internal inspections.
  • Responsible for complying with DOT regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with SOP, cGMP, and cGDP requirements. Conduct cGMP and safety inspections of department areas and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain audit ready conditions
  • Oversee the maintenance for all warehouse, equipment, and technology

What you bring to Takeda:
  • BS in Operational/Logistics or Similar degree, preferably in business, operations, or Supply Chain related field. 8+ years of related experience with 3+leadership experience.
Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
  • Expertise in designing warehouse layouts to optimize space and improve operational efficiency
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising staff
  • Cold chain knowledge and experience in a pharmaceutical or medical setting
  • Knowledgeable of the current Code of the Federal Regulations (CFR's) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting.
  • Strong professional writing skills and ability to prepare technical reports.
  • Strong assessment and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to respond to detailed inquires and relayed information to group and senior management.
  • Demonstrate a leadership ability with good skills in attentive listening, observation, communication, advanced problem analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment with internal and external customers/suppliers.
  • Proactive in the development of employees, including long term goal realization.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledgeable and Experience in LEAN, Six Sigma, or Agile methodologies
  • Ability to understand GMPs and other regulatory guidelines applicable to the medical/pharmaceutical industry.
Working Environment
  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body
  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.
  • Will work in a cold and/or wet environment.
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends.
  • May be required to work in a confined area.
  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
Other Job Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or move objects and repetitive motions.
  • The position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around the facility.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Work is performed in an office setting.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.
  • Must be able to work off hours as required.
  • May be required to enter controlled environments requiring special gowning.
  • No makeup, no jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, artificial fingernails maybe worn in the manufacturing environment.
Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a cold, wet environment.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
