About the Role:

Job Summary

The Braselton Ambulatory Surgery Center Intra-Office PASC Representative is responsible for being the primary revenue cycle liaison within the specialty clinic. This role serves as the primary Patient Access support for the physicians and clinical staff within the surgery center including, but not limited to insurance verification, prior authorization, point of service collections, and frontline check in. The representative is responsible for the revenue cycle integrity of the schedule at the Braselton Ambulatory Surgery Center. This position will also function as a highly visible and accessible patient and family advocate. Acts as a liaison between the parties and the organization. This position offers a specific channel for patients and families for information, general assistance, complaint resolution and referral to appropriate resources.



Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience: Two years of direct invasive and/or diagnostic imaging scheduling experience

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the scheduling, insurance verification, pre-registration, prior-authorization, collections and check in for patients within the Braselton Ambulatory Surgery Center setting.

  • As needed, responsible for the scheduling of follow up and other physician office appointments as applicable to the patient across different office locations at the point of check out.

  • Serves as the primary contact and support for the physicians and clinical office staff as it relates to the need for any Patient Access/Revenue Cycle functions needing resolution.

  • As needed at check out, assists the clinical staff in verifying and entering and/or transcribing the appropriate order for hospital testing/procedures to ensure efficiency of the hospital schedule.

  • Responsible for the QA and integrity of all revenue cycle functions the schedule in which the office specialty supports and communicates any errors or discrepancies with PASC leadership. Also, once the error has been reported, takes ownership in resolving the concern to ensure no downstream anomalies for the patient.

  • Aids in the training of office staff members on all revenue cycle functions as is applicaplbe to the role.

  • Expected to maintain intraoffice duties while supporting any other revenue cycle duties as assigned.

  • Facilitates communication between surgeon and family members.

  • Assist patient in signing in and educates them of surgery flow process.

  • Informs patient and families of procedure process and keeps them updated if any delays occur.

  • Documents in computer system the time of arrival of patient for all of Surgical Services to view.

  • Updates family members on an hourly basis of procedure progress and patient status.

  • Answer phone calls and provide information to patients, family members and physicians. Provides direction and correctly answers questions from patients, families or visitors regarding hospital policy/procedures.

  • Expected to meet all goals set by department management to include, but not limited to; productivity, accuracy, collections, and customer satisfaction.

  • In addition to the above responsibilities, this position is also responsible for accurately performing any and all functions of a PASC Cardiology/Radiology Representative (60881) and a PASC OR Representative (60882).
