Who you are

Youre an aspiring valuation and appraisal professional. You enjoy analyzing data, gathering market research, and following a project from start to finish.

As a Valuation Associate, youll be responsible for applying a proven understanding of the principles of valuation and for the valuation of all property types within the commercial real estate industry. The Associate requires a strong working knowledge of the programs and tools common to the valuation industry. Youll work alongside Senior Valuation Associates tasked with supporting appraisals and consulting projects for a variety of purposes.

What you bring

3+ years of related work experience.

Basic / Minimum Education requirement to perform the job- Bachelors Degree

Preferred educational requirements to perform the job- Real estate appraiser trainee license

CRE experience/ background to perform the role is preferred

Team player mentality with excellent communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Bonus skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have three (3) or more years of direct financial reporting and tax valuation experience.

Real Estate appraiser trainee license or greater is preferred.

Big Four and boutique real estate valuation firm experience recommended.

What success looks like

Assist in executing valuation and appraisal assignments (financial reporting, purchase accounting, Net Asset Value, periodic reporting, tax, lending, etc.) for corporate clients, REITs (publicly traded & non-traded), pension funds, open and closed-end funds, lenders, etc.

Ability to work independently and with other Team members across geographies to deliver exceptional client service and results.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Experience with discounted cash flow (Argus and MS Excel).

Advanced Argus Enterprise and Excel experience

Strong understanding of the Cost, Sales, and Income Approaches

Experience with ASC 805 and other US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.

Independently gather data pertinent to the engagement through direct client interaction, including personal & telephone Interviews with Brokers and Property Managers.

Reviewing industry surveys and benchmarks, economic and demographic trends

Assisting with preparing and presenting the results of our analysis in a clear and concise manner
