Job description

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Manager - Payroll Accounting to join our payroll team. This role will involve overseeing payroll accounting functions, managing the payroll general ledger, and handling benefit and retirement reconciliations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of payroll and accounting principles.

Responsibilities:
Payroll Closing Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll close processing for weekly and bi-weekly payroll. Also, ensure the timeliness of month-end and year-end close.

General Ledger Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of payroll-related accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete.

Insurance Reconciliation: Oversee and reconcile insurance accounts, ensuring accurate deductions and payments.

Analyze Insurance payments and deductions to invoices and ensure timely payment.

Review and Audit ADP invoicing for accuracy, and ensure credits for Taxes and Garnishments are properly being allocated back to the right properties and accounts.

Retirement (401(k Reconciliation: Manage the reconciliation of retirement contributions and ensure compliance with plan regulations. Review and troubleshoot variances of contributions.

Reporting: Prepare and review payroll and reconciliation reports for management and audits.

Collaboration: Work closely with HR and finance teams to address payroll accounting-related inquiries and maintain accurate registers and balance sheets.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to payroll and reconciliation processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Compliance: Stay updated on payroll accounting, benefits technology, and best practices.

Reconcile various types of income, including tips and tokes.

Compile weekly payroll submissions of commissions, bonuses, F&I comp, and other non-standard pay. To assist properties in discrepancies.

Conducts monthly analysis of earnings and deduction code accounts to determine any variances that may result in errors or failures of the GL integrations.

Ensure proper setup of earning and deduction codes to the chart of accounts.

Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent years of experience.

Minimum of 5 years of payroll accounting experience, including general ledger reconciliation.

Strong knowledge of payroll systems and accounting software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Infinium).

Proficient in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Be able to lead a team and or process.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

CPA or CPP certification is a plus but not required.

Payroll at Hard Rock is weekly which makes it high volume, fast pace but rewarding. The team is fun and energetic and always willing to teach.
