Job description

In this role, you will provide administrative and patient care support across various ambulatory practices. Your primary duties will include facilitating patient flow within the clinic, from registration to discharge, and working with the Ambulatory Care clinic team to ensure smooth and efficient outpatient operations that promote patient satisfaction. Additionally, you will provide support to various teams and practices to cover staff absences due to illness, holidays, or leave.

This position requires a flexible, enthusiastic, and proactive Team Assistant who is willing to travel to community practices across the greater Southern California area. You will need to be physically present at the job site, with workdays and hours varying based on assignments, and respond rapidly to urgent situations in a fast-paced environment.



Qualifications

Required:

- Demonstrated knowledge of job responsibilities, along with the ability to skillfully use the equipment, software, and tools necessary to complete tasks efficiently.

- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize assignments effectively.

- Proficiency in facilitating appointment scheduling, including transportation arrangements, and maintaining sub-specialty physician schedules.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating multiple appointments with staff from various clinical services.

- Skill in using a PC with associated programs like Word, Excel, and E-mail, along with experience working with a database computer program.

- Flexibility to travel to multiple work sites within community-based practices and adapt to a variable schedule.

Highly Desired:

- Knowledge of completing online transactions, such as appointment and procedure scheduling, encounter registration, and accessing hospital lab results and medical reports.

- Understanding of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage.

- Experience working in a healthcare setting.

- Familiarity with medical terminology.
