Job description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon's discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Research Associate 1 with a focus on Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to the laboratory efforts to support Eikon drug discovery programs. As a Senior Research Associate 1, you will leverage your expertise to design and execute complex experiments, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and drive the development of innovative solutions.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrated proficiency in a wide range of in vitro ADME studies, including liver microsome stability, hepatocytes stability, and plasma protein binding highlighting their expertise in ADME. Proficiency in mass spectrometry operation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Your strong organizational skills and attention to detail ensure precision, accuracy, and reliability in experimental outcomes. You are known for your proven ability to work independently and drive research projects to successful completion, while also being adaptable and responsive to evolving research priorities and challenges in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

  • Design and execute in vitro ADME studies to understand the properties of novel chemicals, including liver microsome stability, hepatocytes stability and plasma protein binding, etc.
  • Perform bioanalytical method development and analysis of small molecules using the LC/MS-MS. Experience with Analyst and DiscoveryQuant is a plus.
  • Analyze experimental data using appropriate software and statistical methods and provide clear and concise summaries of findings to support decision making.
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and databases.

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal meetings and regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology, to support drug discovery and development projects.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 2 years of experience or Bachelor's with 4 years of related experience in Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of in vitro ADME assays, including metabolic stability, plasma protein binding, CYP inhibition, and cell permeability.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and tools commonly used in DMPK research.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex experiments independently, demonstrating attention to detail.
