Description U.S. Citizenship is Required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance required. Toyon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a team developing prototypes of reentry bodies and other aerospace systems. This position requires a strong background in mechanical design and drafting. The Mechanical Engineer will participate in the entire design process; from conceptualization, detailed design, release of technical drawing packages, through the development of manufacturing processes and specifications. Requirements The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills: B.S. or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 or more years of experience designing structures encountering challenging vibration, shock, and temperature environments. Experience with the various elements of mechanical design, including selection of structural materials, adhesive and fastener selection; AMSE y14.5 and other relevant ASME drafting standards; familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100/MIL Specifications as they apply to aerospace structures. Ability to work in a team environment involving experts in diverse disciplines (e.g. aero-thermal and thermo-structural analyses, RF and IR signature effects of materials and configurations, etc.). Experience with SolidWorks and / or Creo preferred.

The annual pay range for the Mechanical Engineer position is $110,000 to $165,000. The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives.
