Position Summary for the Senior Cost Accountant:
We are seeking a committed Senior Cost Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cost accounting and general ledger (GL) accounting, with a focus on ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Cost Accountant:

• Perform 75% cost accounting and 25% GL accounting tasks.
• Manage fixed and variable overhead allocation across multiple manufacturing facilities.
• Handle the accounting for a large volume of SKUs and products.
• Implement and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports.
• Collaborate with the operations team to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications of the Senior Cost Accountant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Proven experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of fixed and variable overhead allocation.
• Experience with accounting for thousands of SKUs and products.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with the implementation of cost accounting systems and procedures. (preferred)
