Job description

Senior Corporate Controller

Location: Onsite - San Antonio, Texas

Compensation: $185k-200k Base + Bonus

The Senior Corporate Controller will support the Chief Financial Officer in managing our client's company accounting and finance operations. This key role will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with policies, effective tax strategies, and provide insightful operational analysis to drive business performance.

Senior Corporate Controller Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Company's accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate issuance of financial statements.
  • Lead the general ledger team in handling complex accounting activities, such as mergers & acquisitions, month-end close, inter-company transactions, eliminations, and consolidations.
  • Manage the preparation of all financial data for quarterly and year-end reporting, audits, and tax filings.
  • Maintain and enforce a comprehensive system of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with divisional management to drive profitability and operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct financial risk assessments and implement internal controls to maintain compliance with GAAP and other statutory requirements.
  • Oversee audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure the division complies with all tax, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage technology to streamline processes and lead change management initiatives across the finance function.
  • Coordinate with corporate finance to consolidate divisional financial results into company-wide reports.
  • Support Finance leadership on key corporate initiatives impacting operations and reporting.

Senior Corporate Controller Qualifications:

  • CPA designation with a background in public accounting.
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a Controller or Senior Manager role.
  • Strong experience with mergers & acquisitions is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and mentor teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
