Job description

Title: Construction Manager - Mechanical

Location: Spartanburg, SC

Job-Type: FTE/Permanent

This is a role in which the successful candidate will coordinate, manage, and oversee

activities pertaining to industrial construction projects from start to finish as well as work

with customers, design consultants, subcontractors, and engineers to assist in making

decisions on behalf of the project team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are constructed and documented in accordance with the contract

documents and good engineering practices.

• Develop and maintain project cost/change controls, and project budget and

accounting records as well as perform change order estimating and assist in

change order negotiations.

• Coordinate and monitor schedule updates, staffing needs, invoices and

submittals while communicating project status on a regular basis.

• Direct and motivate subcontractors and staff engaged in planning and executing

work procedures while directing jobsite office operations and procedures.

• Collaborate with involved parties to resolve problems, including work procedures

and construction or design issues.

• Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all

safety codes are met in construction.

• Effectively collaborate with others to delivery a quality product on schedule and

within budget.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of related experience in industrial construction projects with

strong problem-solving and communication skills, as well as attention to detail.

• Experience working with manufacturing customers in a variety of settings.

• Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and

identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.

• Experience with civil/site work (concrete, steel, building envelope, MEP, etc.)

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our small-firm

culture is a must, along with a tolerance for ambiguity.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position oversees and coordinates the activities of the general contractors on the

jobsite of assigned projects and is responsible for the performance management of the

jobsite.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, however out of state travel is likely for

project coordination. Short-term relocation may be necessary as projects require.
