About the Role: Aquila is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The DevSecOps engineer's main responsibilities will be to design, evaluate, plan, implement the functional and non-functional requirements of a secure enterprise DevSecOps platform of services. This engineer will help build our platform's DevSecOps infrastructure(s), as well as bring automation and efficiency to both existing and new use cases. There are a few requirements for the position: Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify) Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.) Must be within commutable distance of Lexington, Massachusetts. What You'll Do: This role requires a focus across all components within a DevSecOps system to develop and communicate standards and best practices both from a service perspective as well as a security perspective. Working Knowledge of the Following: Comprehensive technical expertise in a variety of DevSecOps commercial and open-source automation tools and products, along with knowledge of their optimal use cases. Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems. Experience performing process improvements, and applying tools and technologies to automate activities for operational and financial value. Familiarity with scripting & programming languages, such as Python, Java, bash, C/C++, Go, etc. Experience partnering with developer communities, IT support staff, and project managers to drive DevSecOps platform initiatives, project milestone completions, and provide technical advice. Experience engaging with the broader technical community to anticipate developments in innovation, often evaluating new solutions and recommending future business platform system requirements Strong communication skills to clearly express technical information, to lead discussions and to guide a group to smart decisions. Strong emotional intelligence as it relates to both self and social awareness as well as application support to change management. Strong background working within and across teams focused on promoting customer service. Possess excellent customer interfacing skills to handle client inquiries and issues, while actively contributing to the development and maintenance of understandable, user-friendly documentation. Comfortable with authoring commercially effective documentation used by fellow IT administrators, developers, and a technically advanced user community. Understanding of information security frameworks and standards within the government/defense sector. Detailed experience working to secure platforms and products working across design, development and the operations to ensure security best practices are applied.
