Job description

Cybersecurity Technical Writer (Intermediate) This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust The Cybersecurity Technical Writer to create, edit, and revise technical documentation that communicates complex cybersecurity information clearly and effectively to a broad range of audiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, excellent writing skills, and the ability to convert highly technical concepts into user-friendly content. This role requires collaboration with engineers, analysts, and cybersecurity professionals to ensure accurate and accessible documentation is produced for various stakeholders. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Cybersecurity Technical Writer (Intermediate): $140,000 - $145,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Cybersecurity Technical Writer (Intermediate) Responsibilities Include: Write, edit, and format technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and other cybersecurity-related publications. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information, verify details, and ensure the accuracy of documentation. Develop content that meets industry standards and is tailored to technical and non-technical audiences, including end-users, engineers, and management. Translate complex technical jargon into clear, concise, and actionable documentation. Maintain consistency in terminology and structure across all documentation. Ensure all documentation aligns with organizational cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices. Conduct periodic reviews and updates of existing documentation to ensure it remains accurate and relevant. Assist in the development of cybersecurity training materials and guidelines as needed. Ensure that all deliverables meet quality and compliance standards, such as FISMA, NIST, or other relevant cybersecurity frameworks. Performs other job-related duties as assigned Cybersecurity Technical Writer (Intermediate) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in cybersecurity or IT-related fields. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to explain technical concepts clearly. Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, practices, and standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA, Zero Trust, etc.). Proficiency with technical writing tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or similar. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks. Strong organizational and project management skills. Experience with version control, content management systems, and document lifecycle management is a plus. Experience working in a cybersecurity or technology-driven environment is preferred. Knowledge of security frameworks, compliance standards, and best practices (FISMA, NIST, ISO, etc.) is preferred. Familiarity with document management and version control systems is preferred.
