Summary:

The Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting is a key contributor responsible for assisting in the financial reporting process and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards. This role involves preparing and analyzing monthly and annual financial statements, conducting cash flow analysis, and overseeing the management company budget. The Senior Accountant collaborates with external auditors on property/portfolio audits and drives process improvements to ensure the integrity of financial operations. With a focus on accuracy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving, this role plays a vital part in the financial success of Morgan Properties, working closely with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making and operational cohesion.

Key Responsibilities:Financial ReportingAssist in the preparation and completion of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.

Prepare the management company budget and perform budget-to-actual variance reviews.

Conduct monthly cash flow analysis and project future cash needs.

Audit and ComplianceAssist with annual property/portfolio audits and support monthly/quarterly/annual partnership reporting.

Collaborate with external auditors on audit deliverables and prepare individual audited financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.

Implement and review key controls as appropriate.

Analysis and ReconciliationPrepare and review ad hoc analyses and reconciliations.

Participate in special projects, including process improvements and best practices.

CollaborationWork closely with accountants and other internal departments to ensure cohesive financial operations.

Additional DutiesAdapt to additional tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team in various capacities.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year institution.

4-5 years of experience in public accounting or a combination of public and industry accounting, with a strong focus on preparing financial statements.

Strong knowledge of GAAP.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Yardi experience a plus.

CPA preferred but not required.
