Job description

Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Manager of Labor Planning & Analytics to join our Operations team. This role is critical in driving workforce efficiency and optimizing labor deployment across our industry operations. You will leverage data analytics to create effective labor plans, forecast labor needs, and identify opportunities for cost-saving and productivity improvements. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that labor resources are aligned with operational goals and that we can scale effectively as the business grows.

Responsibilities:
Labor Forecasting & Planning: Develop and manage labor models to forecast workforce needs based on demand forecasts, operational targets, and business growth projections.

Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement data-driven labor strategies that optimize staffing levels, reduce overtime, and enhance productivity while maintaining high service levels.

Data Analysis: Utilize advanced analytics and workforce management tools to analyze labor data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide actionable insights to operations leaders.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, finance, and HR teams to align labor plans with budgetary constraints, hiring strategies, and operational goals.

Reporting & Dashboards: Build and maintain detailed reporting systems and dashboards to monitor labor performance and highlight trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Cost Management: Develop strategies to minimize labor costs without compromising service quality, identifying areas for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of analysts, driving continuous improvement in labor planning processes and methodologies.

Scenario Modeling: Perform scenario modeling and what-if analyses to assess the impact of various business decisions on labor demand and costs.

Vendor/Technology Management: Oversee labor management tools and systems, working with third-party vendors and internal IT teams to ensure seamless functionality and data integrity.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, or related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

5+ years of experience in labor planning, workforce management, or operational analytics, with 2+ years in a leadership role.

Strong expertise in workforce planning tools, labor management systems (e.g., Kronos, Workday), and data analytics platforms (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Excel, or similar).

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Proven track record of optimizing labor resources in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Strong leadership and project management skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.

Effective communicator, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Experience in industry-specific labor management preferred (e.g., e-commerce, retail, logistics, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in financial modeling and scenario analysis related to workforce planning.

Proficiency in building dashboards, reports, and presentations for executive stakeholders.

Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques (e.g., machine learning, predictive analytics) is a plus.
