Because of our growth, we are seeking an experienced Mid- level Landscape Architect. The position will be a hybrid working environment - some remote and some time in office. We have several locations nationwide, but the ideal candidate will be near either Cincinnati, OH or Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities:
The Landscape Architect will be responsible for providing expertise in planning and design for diverse projects and clients. Our work includes a variety of master-planned communities, higher education, parks and recreation, athletic venues, commercial, urban design and economic development related services. The Mid-level Landscape Architect will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring junior landscape architects.
Responsibilities include:
Interpret, define, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments for the Urbanism & Planning Discipline
Confer with clients, consultants, and in-house engineering and architectural team members on project requirements
Act as a Project Landscape Architect on complex projects and direct other team members
Lead the compilation, map preparation and analysis of data on-site conditions (Soil, existing vegetation, topography, hydrology, social ecosystems) for preparation and development of master plans, site, and landscape plans, details and specifications
Lead the observation of construction work in progress (Construction Administration) to verify compliance with landscape specifications and construction documentation, to approve quality of materials and work, and to advise client and construction team on landscape design intent
Assist in the preparation of various studies and reports
Prepare schematic and detailed design documents
Prepare construction drawings including construction details
Participate in scope meetings with clients to construct needs analysis and project goals and objectives
Participate in and/or lead progress meetings and design reviews in-house and with clients
Assist with preparation of responses to RFQ's/RFP's/SOQ's with Woolpert's proposal team, and scope and fee preparation for landscape architecture projects
Willingness to support the development of a strategic marketing plan and assist with the implementation of marketing strategies to help continue to grow the landscape architecture practice within the firm
Qualifications:
Bachelor's and/or Master of Landscape Architecture Degree
5-7 Years' experience in Landscape Architecture position
Licensed Landscape Architect
Skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Sketch Up, Revit, MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite and ArcGIS
Strong hand drawing and illustrative design skills
Experience preparing detailed Construction Drawing (CD) packages
Must be able to travel +/-25% to client and project sites
Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities with multiple projects
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Interest in and ability to mentor landscape architects and other design professionals
Strong creative and technical proficiency within design and construction
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a team dynamic environment
Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals
Quickly adapt and respond to industry changes as well as internal initiatives
Preferred Experience/Skills
LEED Green Associate Certification
Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB)
Strong horticulture, arboriculture and botany background
