What you will do

As a Manager/Senior Manager, you will play a central role in our work by leading and managing client engagements. You will provide strategic guidance to our clients, helping them solve their most pressing problems with creative and results-driven solutions.

Primary responsibilities for this role include:

Client engagements

Collaborate with the engagement lead and project team to shape the approach and structure of client projects;

Manage multiple client projects concurrently, advancing each project from launch to the submission of final deliverables;

Manage client relationships, serving as day-to-day contact for client communications;

Establish internal routines and expectations for project team roles and responsibilities;

Ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and timeliness by actively participating in their design and production; and

Monitor project budgets, ensuring timely submission of invoices.

Mentorship and supervision

Contribute to the culture and wellbeing of the firm by shaping the experience of teamwork and supporting the professional growth of associates and senior associates;

Develop and deliver trainings to team members and actively support team members with learning and development;

Lead the development of annual performance reviews of associates and senior associates; and

Regularly assess our work products against our quality standards.

Firm assignments

Contribute to the firm's recruitment and hiring efforts;

Support business development efforts through the design, drafting, and submission of proposals and preparing for interviews; and

Participate in other internal firm workstreams related to firm priorities (e.g., anti-racism and accountability, learning and development, knowledge management).

Requirements

Who you are

You are passionate about social change and helping social impact and public sector clients maximize their impact. You have at least five years of professional work experience, including one year of direct managerial experience in consulting or a related field.

Other qualifications include:

Experience with stakeholder engagement in complex settings and working with diverse groups of stakeholders

Strong analytic, writing, and communication skills and ability to present information clearly and insightfully

Commitment to building deep relationships with clients and leaders in the civic sector to understand their work and perspectives

Capacity to deeply understand social issues in their historical and systemic context, with a strong interest in racial and socioeconomic equity

Experience working collaboratively with teams to generate new ideas, shape work products, and provide constructive feedback

Benefits

The salary range for Manager/Senior Manager role is $95,000 - 165,000 with the potential for an annual performance-based bonus. We will assess the specific title and level of entry during the interview and assessment process. Our salary structure is designed to be in line with that of social impact organizations, reflecting our dedication to working with mission-driven organizations. Our work and culture are distinct from other management consultancies that work with private sector clients.

Employment at Bennett Midland is contingent on the candidate having the requisite authorization to live and work in the United States.

We operate in a hybrid work environment, including in-person client meetings and some travel. We currently require in-office presence at our office in Manhattan a minimum of twice a week.
