Job description

Overview:
Reporting to the VP of Ops and Strategy, the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Operations and Strategy, will lead and support critical strategic initiatives including digital transformation, process automation, and operations optimization. This role requires both strategic and operational skillsets and the ability to manage relationships with executives across operations and other stakeholder groups (e.g., sales, tech).

Drawing from a strong background in management consulting, financial services, operations optimization and/or tech, this role will not only accelerate our transformation but also help implement initiatives that leverage innovative analytics/automation technologies for broader operational enhancement. The salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000, plus an annual bonus.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

Collaborate with executive stakeholders and business leaders within the Mortgage Originations Teams to identify strategic opportunities.

Develop and refine overarching strategies that convert these opportunities into measurable benefits, guiding the organization's long-term success.

Analytical Oversight & Execution

Lead comprehensive financial and operational analyses to enhance organizational performance. Develop analytical frameworks and guide analysis.

Utilize data-driven and advanced modeling techniques to assess and improve operational efficiency, revenue growth, and process innovation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Strategic Project Management

Oversee and lead key projects and workstreams within the digital transformation and broader operational initiatives.

Ensure impact and achievement outcomes of projects through strategic alignment, resource management and strong execution.

Process Optimization

Lead the identification and execution of business process enhancements by employing innovative methodologies such as design thinking and zero-based design.

Utilize cutting-edge automation tools to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Transformational Leadership

Drive the adoption of new technologies and processes as part of digital transformation.

Provide organizational transformation leadership and promote change management practices to ensure success of programs and adoption of technologies.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in: Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field preferred. MBA or other advanced degrees a plus.

Ideally, minimum of 3 years of work experience at a top-tier management consulting firm

5+ years of experience in other industries may be considered: top-tier financial services, technology, or mortgage firms (in strategy or operations capacity) preferred

Experience with financial services or mortgage industry preferred

Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to apply innovative methodologies to business challenges.

Demonstrated experience in leading strategic initiatives and operations optimization.

Strong financial modeling skills (Excel), experience developing analytical frameworks on which teams can execute.

Strong presentation (Powerpoint) and verbal communication skills; capable of conveying complex ideas simply to executives a clear and crisp manner.

Direct experience in digital transformation, business process optimization, and/or automation projects is highly valued.

Self-motivated and takes initiative; able to drive analyses / projects standalone or coordinate resources to execute on projects amid ambiguity.

Maintains a sense of urgency, commitment, and accountability, making sound decisions to achieve goals.

Upholds a strong work ethic and takes pride in contributing to a team-oriented, results-driven organization.

Experience leading teams and/or interest in managing and developing colleagues a plus.

Embraces change and continuous improvement, with a strong commitment to transparency and collaboration.

Possess unquestionable integrity, ethical and moral character.
