Responsibilities:
Associate Program Director Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Program Director, share responsibility and accountability for the overall program, including (1) compliance with all applicable program requirements, (2) administration and operations, (3) teaching and scholarly activity, (4) resident recruitment and selection, (5) evaluation, and promotion of residents, and disciplinary action, (6) supervision of residents, (7) and resident education in the context of patient care.

Be a role model of professionalism.

Help design and conduct the program in a fashion consistent with the needs of the community, the mission(s) of the Sponsoring Institution, and the mission(s) of the program;

Administer and maintain a learning environment conducive to educating the residents in each of the ACGME Competency domains;

Submit accurate and complete information required and requested by the DIO, GMEC, and ACGME

Provide a learning and working environment in which residents have the opportunity to raise concerns, report mistreatment, and provide feedback in a confidential manner as appropriate, without fear of intimidation or retaliation

Ensure the program's compliance with the Sponsoring Institution's policies and procedures related to grievances and due process, including when action is taken to suspend or dismiss, or not to promote or renew the appointment of a resident

Ensure the program's compliance with the Sponsoring Institution's policies and procedures on employment and non-discrimination

Help document verification of education for all residents within 30 days of completion of or departure from the program

Help provide verification of an individual resident's education upon the resident's request, within 30 days

Regularly attend GMEC meetings and serve as a voting member

Demonstrate participation and engagement in GMEC, including involvement in tasks and sub-committee work as assigned by GMEC Chair

Provide written and verbal feedback to residents

Complete assigned evaluations in a timely manner

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range for the role is $250,037 through $313,693 annually. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member's compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

Qualifications:
Qualifications of the program director:

Must have successfully completed an AOA or ACGME-accredited residency program in psychiatry

Must have practiced in Psychiatry for a minimum of three (3) years

Must have a minimum of 3 years of graduate medical education administrative experience prior to appointment - APD or PD experience a plus

Must have current board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong team-building skills

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged standing.

Working Conditions:
• Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works primarily inside and may occasionally work outdoors. Frequent contact with various Garnet Health staff, sales representatives, employees and community members. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity.
• Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and push over 75 lbs. Other physical requirements include the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, twist, balance and reach above, out and below.
