Local, reputable college is seeking to add a Staff Accountant to its Accounting team!

This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity

Direct hire will be considered for the right candidate!

Pay rate: $25-28/hr.

Hours: M-F, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm; 37.5-hour work week!

Location: Onsite in Albany, NY

Summary:

As the Staff Accountant, you will report directly to the AVP and CFO. You will be responsible for processing accounts payable, reconciling bank and investment accounts as well as entering and posting journal entries. You will review monthly credit card reconciliations for completeness and post in internal database. In addition, this position will reconcile GL accounts, assist in preparing work papers for the annual audit, act as a back up to payroll, and work on other projects as assigned.

Day-to-day, the Staff Accountant will:

Reconcile monthly bank statements and monthly investment statements.

Review monthly credit card reconciliations.

Reconcile monthly GL accounts.

Enter and post monthly journal entries.

Renew stop payments.

Process accounts payable.

Assist controller with monthly cash projection, documenting processes and workflows and with annual audit.

Act as a back up to payroll.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

Associate Degree

Prior experience with bank reconciliations, accounts payable processing & payroll

Attention to detail

Exceptional interpersonal skills to

Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision

MS Office applications (specifically MS Word and Excel), e-mail and internet programs; aptitude to learn new systems.
