Job Title: Data Architect (AWS, Snowflake)

Location: Onsite (Hybrid) Princeton, NJ

Type: FTE or Contract

Start Date 16 October 2024

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with a deep understanding of data modeling, AWS, AWS Analytics services, and Snowflake. The Data Architect will be responsible for designing robust data models, creating cloud-based data solutions, and ensuring seamless data flow across the organization. Exposure to the pharmaceutical industry is a plus, particularly in commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Architecture and Modeling
    • Design and develop data models for OLTP and OLAP systems, optimizing for scalability and performance.
    • Build and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models in line with business requirements.
    • Implement data normalization, dimensional modeling, and entity-relationship diagrams (ERD).
  2. Cloud Expertise (AWS and Snowflake)
    • Leverage AWS services such as S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda, and Kinesis for building scalable cloud-based data solutions.
    • Design and implement Snowflake solutions for data warehousing and real-time analytics, ensuring integration with AWS services.
  3. ETL Pipelines and Data Integration
    • Design and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
    • Ensure seamless integration between different data platforms and third-party systems.
  4. Data Governance and Security
    • Apply data governance policies to ensure data quality, lineage, and access controls.
    • Implement security measures in line with compliance standards such as GDPR and HIPAA, ensuring secure cloud environments.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work with engineering, analytics, and business teams to understand their data needs and provide architectural solutions.
    • Communicate data architecture and model designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  6. Data Strategy and Innovation
    • Define data strategy to optimize storage, processing, and analytics in a cloud environment.
    • Stay updated on the latest data trends and implement best practices to enhance architecture and data models.

Nice to Have:

  • Pharmaceutical Commercial Knowledge
    • Familiarity with Pharma industry operations, commercial analytics, and regulatory requirements.
    • Experience working on pharmaceutical analytics projects or handling sensitive healthcare data.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in data architecture and data modeling.
  • Strong expertise in AWS cloud services, Snowflake, and data modeling tools.
  • Proven experience in designing scalable data architectures and ETL pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with DBT (Nice to have)
