Job description

Overview:
Maintains perioperative supply chain operations for the medical center's Operating Room and SPD Case Cart Inventory locations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program and operational policies and procedures in concert with and under the direction of leadership. Supports the organizations purpose of providing care by ensuring that assigned inventories and par locations are properly maintained with
minimal inaccuracies.

Responsibilities:
Coordinates all aspects of assigned inventories.

Ensures appropriate stock level, determines time to reorder and reports any potential issues to management on a timely basis.

Looks for and gets approval for substitutes as needed. Orders reprocessed items first when available.

Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; acts as a liaison between nursing staff and Buyers.

Receive, deliver, and put-away of all OR supplies in an accurate and timely manner

Checks in orders of assigned items. Insures order quantity and shipped quantity match. Identifies package integrity issues and works with buyers, vendors and staff to seek resolution when needed.

Evaluates the appropriate Min/Max levels, reviews Min/Max details along with historical usage and other pertinent data sets to form recommendation on potential adjustments.

Ensures appropriate stock level, evaluates the appropriate Min/Max levels, determines time to reorder and reports any potential issues to management.

Ensures all inventory and PAR stock items have the appropriate barcodes for tracking and reorder.

Reacts appropriately to critical stock outs

Manages expiration dates for assigned items. Proactively identifies slow moving items before they outdate. Maintains record of outdates and related expenses.

Rotates stock to ensure appropriate management of outdates Provides assistance to clinical personnel trying to locate items.

Marks backordered or substituted items as per established communication processes between the OR and Supply Chain.

Supports Clinical Team Leads with special order requests, item add spreadsheets, and order expediting/status requests.

Processes and documents returns as required following established procedures.

Maintains physical condition of PAR and inventory locations by planning and implementing new design layouts in collaboration with key stakeholders when appropriate.

Supports processing of recalls by assisting with documentation and timely sequestering of impacted items when applicable.

Maintains e-req templates for assigned PAR and inventory locations.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma Or Equivalent Required

Associate's Business Administration Preferred

Experience in purchasing and inventory in an Operating room or surgery center preferred.

Physically counts inventory locations and moves products on carts to storage locations.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Some knowledge of medical terminology. Computer experience including MS Word and Excel required, Lawson preferred. Ability to use standard office machines including copiers, multi-line phones and facsimile machines. Knowledge of inventory concepts, budgets and medical products required.
