Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN Clinical Document Improvement Specialist for a travel nursing job in Jackson, Mississippi.

Fingerprint requirement .can be done remotely (takes approx 10-14 DAYS) or in person in Jackson, MS 1 week prior to assignment

will accept local candidates @ $70/hr

Department: CM - Case Manager
General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.) BLS, RN Case Manager
Other Certifications/Specialty certifications requirements? CCM preferred but not required
Prefer RN, BSN Would consider ADN with extensive Case Management experience.

Case load/# patients per day/consults per day 15-20
EMR EPIC
Do you require InterQual criteria or Milliman experience No, but need to have general understanding of discharge readiness
Is this position for UR, discharge planning, or both? Discharge planning no UR piece to the role.
What areas do they cover (Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, Home Care, etc.) Will cover all Inpatient units throughout the hospital

Experience or 'Must have' skills Must be confident RN Case manager with 5 years Acute Care Management experience with previous experience in large academic Medical Center hospital or Level 1 trauma. Some experience MUST be recent.
CM Manager/Supervisor Department does not have a CM Manager at this time. Will directly report to the Social Work Manager. Chief of Care Coordination is also providing department oversight as needed.
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) M-F 8-430p
Weekend Requirements None
Holiday Requirements Rotated as needed
Scrub Color/Dress Code Any color scrubs or business professional attire
RT for DC Planning? Will consult with RT as need
Pharmacy for DC Planning? Will consult with Pharmacy as needed
Department Specific Orientation 2 weeks (will include general facility orientation)
Additional Notes Communication is KEY for this role. There are some novice case managers on the team, so they are looking for someone that has strong case management skills and are willing to learn the nuances of MS.
Additional Questions Tell me about a situation where you had to think outside of the box to get a complex patient placed. What are 2 examples of how you've gone above and beyond for a patient.
