Job description

The Refinery Operations Supervisor role focuses on ensuring safety and efficiency in refinery operations. Key responsibilities include overseeing production planning, troubleshooting system issues, managing maintenance, and coordinating daily activities with adequate resources. The supervisor will foster team development through cross-training, promote a zero-defect culture, and ensure compliance with operational guidelines and safety standards. Additionally, the role involves monitoring performance metrics, supporting change management initiatives, assisting in new product development, and preparing operational reports to optimize overall refinery performance.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure consistent adherence to safety practices by employees and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and update SAP data daily.
  • Oversee and execute plant production planning (daily/weekly MRP).
  • Address and manage system defects, troubleshoot processes, and follow up on maintenance jobs and documentation.
  • Schedule and ensure adequate resources for daily operations.
  • Manage and plan team career development, including cross-training and addressing performance issues.
  • Coordinate with others to schedule additional cleanup technicians, ensuring plant cleanliness and safety.
  • Operate the plant efficiently, focusing on reliability, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
  • Monitor and achieve KPI targets, such as production cost, maintenance cost, and chemical usage.
  • Ensure products meet specifications, maximize yield, and optimize system throughput.
  • Foster a zero-defect culture through collaboration with all teams.
  • Promote teamwork and provide constructive feedback professionally.
  • Support change management activities, including communication, education, and team development, and address necessary employee warnings.
  • Assist with new product development initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to operational guidelines and HACCP/SQF programs.
  • Prepare and analyze operational reports.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Profile

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent technical experience.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • At least 2 years of progressive supervisory experience.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Ability to read P&ID's and schematics.
  • Capable of obtaining TWIC certification.
  • Background in manufacturing plant or refinery operations.
