Job description

Duties Serves as the lead planner while directing staff actions to ensure the proper execution of the IG functions (Inspections, Assistance, Teaching and Training, and IG Investigations) on behalf of the Commander. Provides impartial, objective, and unbiased advice to the Commander, Soldiers, civilian employees, and family members. Responsible for inquiring, coordinating IG support with leaders at various echelons, and reporting upon matters affecting the mission and performance of all active and reserve component organizations assigned to 311th SC(T) and subordinate commands. Conduct inspections as directed by the Secretary of the Army, Chief of Staff of the Army, Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, the 311thSC(T) Commander, the 311th Command IG, or The Inspector General. Resolves highly complex and sensitive organizational challenges and allegations of impropriety brought to an IG. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Three year trial/probationary period may be required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019. and/or DA Form 7412 "Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions identified as Critical under the Drug Abuse Testing program. Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel will be required approximately 10% of the time and may require worldwide travel. Must possess a current state valid driver's license or equivalent. Must successfully graduate from the Inspector General school and maintain certification in accordance with AR 20-1 within 9 months of entrance on duty Any serious criminal activity, to include drug use, will result in the immediate removal of an employee from IG duty and loss of access. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
