Overview:
Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Senior Principal Digital RTL Design Engineer to join our Memory Interface Chip team in Johns Creek. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.

As a Senior Principal Digital RTL Design Engineer, the candidate will be reporting to the Senior Director Analog Engineer and is a Full Time position. candidate will be responsible for specifying, architecting, and implementing mission critical RTL components. The individual will work closely with specification developers, digital & analog designers, and physical design teams to realize efficient and highest performance designs. The position is for DDR5 and DDR6 enterprise-class memory interface products to grow the Memory Interface Chip Business Unit.

Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for the majority of our office-based roles. We encourage employees to spend an average of at least three days per week working onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.

Responsibilities:
Developing system Verilog RTL IP, logic, and state machines for next generation products

Performing full chip integration and chip level simulations

Estimating and tracking power, performance, area (PPA) tradeoffs for RTL designs

Reviewing and improving Static Timing Analysis (STA) results

Maintaining architecture documentation for IP

Creating Verilog models of components

Guiding verification team for code coverage

Supporting validation during chip power-on and debug

Qualifications:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 10+ years of professional experience

Strong background in Digital RTL design including industry standard LEC, CDC, Lint, DFT, BIST, STA tools

Familiarity with industry standard interface protocol such as I3C, I2C, SMBus

Familiarity with DDR5 DRAM, DIMM topology and overall, DIMM operation

Ability to document design techniques, test, and verification methodology.

Python/perl script development

Interface with debug, test, product, and reliability engineers for product qualification

Interface with application engineers for customer support
