OVERVIEW:

The Senior Accountant works directly with Lifepoint Group's (LPG) executive and senior management to define, implement and execute reporting solutions across the organization. Primary responsibilities include preparation of financial and operational information for executive management; assist in the preparation of projections and budgets; develop and improve operational reporting tools; analyze and provide targeted results-oriented recommendations in conjunction with management and leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee month-end process to include: journal entries, resolving financials issues, preliminary review of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Prepare monthly reports on budget vs actual results
  • Maintain subsidy revenue calculations while working with corporate accounting to ensure revenue is recorded accurately
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly RVU calculations and quality incentive payments
  • Distribute LPG monthly financial reports/RMD reports
  • Assist/responsible for annual budget process and projection updates
  • Complete quarterly B&O tax information
  • Create budgets for new startups - using business development pricing model
  • Distribute monthly premium labor results for budget vs actual
  • Complete annual business license applications
  • Special projects as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • Four + years of experience in corporate or operational reporting/analysis or public accounting; proven skill accomplishments preparing and communicating models, trend analysis, operational metrics, etc.
  • Healthcare experience in a practice management environment preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to create and work with pivot tables, write formulas, chart customization, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • AR collections and Invoicing experience
  • Lawson ERP Software experience highly desired
  • Experience with Hyperion, Essbase or other planning/reporting software preferred
  • Excellent critical thinking is required
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technical skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail when following set instructions and reviewing reports for accuracy
  • Experience in coordinating simultaneous assignments from various levels across the organization by assessing project deadlines, establishing work priorities, and coordinating work schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both orally and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, professional demeanor
  • Ability to work well with others, and work with minimal direction/supervision
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize work; handle stress and conflict
  • Resourcefulness, ingenuity, strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including tact and ability to handle confidential and personal information with discretion
