Job description

The Common Market is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager for their Southeast Farm Food Hub. As the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hub, which serves as a link between local sustainable farmers and community institutions. The Common Market is dedicated to creating an equitable and resilient food system by connecting farmers and communities through the distribution of fresh, healthy food.

As the Operations Manager of the Southeast Farm Food Hub, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hub operations, including inventory management, warehouse logistics, and staff supervision. You will work closely with farmers and ranchers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of their products, while also maintaining compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.

To excel in this role, you should have strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are also essential. Additionally, a passion for promoting sustainable and equitable food systems is highly desired.

This is a full-time position based at the Southeast warehouse in East Point, GA. The Common Market currently operates hubs in multiple regions, including the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Texas, and Great Lakes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in food and beverage management, agriculture, business, or a related field.

At least 5 years of experience in food distribution, agriculture, or a related field.

Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Passion for promoting sustainable and equitable food systems.
