Controller Opportunity - Construction Industry

Location: Newington, CT
Compensation: $95-120K

Our client is seeking a Controller who is passionate about financial management in construction and ready to bring their skills to a company that values leadership and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, percentage-of-completion, and WIP reports.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Key Duties:

  • Oversee all accounting and financial functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including project-specific financials, WIP reports, and job cost analysis.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasting for ongoing construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and executive leadership to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and construction-specific accounting standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all financial processes.
