Job description

As a Node.js Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust APIs and building an event-driven architecture that supports our growing applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that enhance user experience and system efficiency.

Work Environment:

Open to 100% remote but STRONG preference on the candidate to be local to Phoenix.

Work hours: based on AZ time

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js.

• Implement event-driven architecture using message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) to support real-time data processing.

• Optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.

• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with a focus on testing and documentation.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and reliability.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve our stack.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Node.js Developer or similar role.

• Strong understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js frameworks (e.g., Express, Koa).

• Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).

• Familiarity with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling.

• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and API design principles.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Experience with serverless architecture.

• Familiarity with GraphQL and API gateway concepts.

• Experience with Next.js
