Description:

While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values this position is responsible for responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing process improvements within clinical settings to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and overall healthcare outcomes. The Process Improvement Specialist will work closely with healthcare professionals, administrators, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement, develop strategies, and implement solutions that align with best practices and regulatory requirements.

This is an at will position.


Job Duties:

  • Analyze current clinical processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to gather input and feedback.
  • Conduct data analysis to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Develops rapport with customers, suppliers, leaders, and employees at all levels.
  • Coaches, mentors, teaches, and develops staff members in use and application of quality and process improvement tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Facilitate training sessions for staff on new processes and procedures.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in process improvement projects.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
  • Utilize process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with process changes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for process improvements.
  • Coordinate with IT to implement technology solutions for process improvements.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff during transitions.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes to measure the impact of process changes.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the personal, financial, and medical or employment status of patients and staff of the organization.
  • Performs special projects and duties as assigned
Requirements:

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business or related field.
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience required

Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge in critical access hospital, accountable care organization, long term care, and/or related regulations and data requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and determine the order of importance.
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding appropriate action plans.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
  • Must have the ability to influence and inspire and be respected as a "change agent" for process improvement.
  • Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills and decisive judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, information systems, information management, and data analysis.
  • Experience leading Process Improvement focused on value stream mapping, rapid improvement events, metrics analysis and reporting.
  • Travel: 5% to 10%
  • Physical: Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and screens, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or an eligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Able to walk moderate distances.




Compensation details: 34.52-51.8 Hourly Wage
