Required Education and Experience:
Licensed in the State as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Must have and maintain current CPR certification
Must have updated TB test within the last 6 weeks
Able to use necessary supplies and equipment (feeding pumps, oxygen, treatment trays, medication cart, etc.).
Able to calculate drug dosage
Meets all health requirements imposed by law
Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other center staff
Able to read, write, speak and understand English
Demonstrate d basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications; Experience with PCC a plus.
Job Duties:
Provide licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with center , federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
Keeps medication room and medication cart clean, orderly, and locked according to regulations. Responsible for security of keys and counting of medications.
Direct the day-to-day functions of the certified nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern long-term care centers.
Coordinate overall resident care issues per nursing license, center policy and as warranted to meet resident needs.
Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
Monitor and direct non-licensed ancillary services as deemed necessary to meet professional standards and maintain the highest practicable level of resident care.
Communicate/report information to residents, resident families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies and center personnel as required by center policy and State/Federal guidelines.
Ensure that all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained.
Admit, transfer and discharge residents as necessary to meet the resident's individual needs and maintain the overall safety of other residents, staff and visitors.
