Our Indiana facility is our newest biomedical facility, housing our research animals, laboratory, treatment rooms, and offices for a growing team, with additional building expansion expected to be completed in the next year.

POSITION SUMMARY

eGenesis is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician on the Operations team to support a range of operational responsibilities at two of our sites in the Greater Madison Area. In this position, you will be responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance of our building, labs and equipment. You will have a wide variety of tasks and will communicate with building management and service providers. You will use strong organization, communication, and troubleshooting skills to ensure the facility is fully operational and minimize downtime of any systems or equipment. In this role, you will learn and develop under the supervision of the Associate Director, Facilities Operations.?

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for the upkeep of our buildings and labs to the highest reasonable standard
  • Perform routine inspections, monitor cleanliness and condition of facilities, grounds, and related maintenance equipment
  • Utilize powered and hand tools to repair and maintain buildings, equipment and facilities
  • Carry out simple repairs in-house and call outside contractors for larger projects
  • Respond to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion
  • Act as facility representative with service providers and contractors (HVAC, MEP, equipment servicing, etc.) and provide routine updates to Facilities Director
  • Monitor, support, and coordinate with service providers
  • Self-directed and keeps track of work from start through completion
  • Respond to alarm calls and other urgent matters (including off-hours support and response) when necessary
  • Work closely with staff from other groups within the company to identify, coordinate repairs and anticipate future work
  • Travel to other sites to oversee repairs and maintenance as necessary
  • Embrace safety culture and continuous efficiency improvement methodologies


What You Will Bring:

  • Be proactive, maintain a clean work area, and take pride in a job well done
  • Experience with carpentry and familiarity with other building utilities and systems
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems with common sense approach to problem solving
  • Flexibility to travel to other sites with minimal notice
  • Understanding or ability to learn safety standards for working in a laboratory environment with chemicals, gases, and other hazards
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability prioritize shifting responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include occasional evenings and or weekends as business needs dictate
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, shift a minimum 50lb
